London is one of the most visited cities world-wide and last year, the city boasted over 15 million visitors! The city of London has unmatched history and culture combined with a unique, exciting atmosphere. A trip to the city can be expensive – but it doesn’t have to be, so make your money go further with these top tips!

.Research ahead of time for great package options! With so many famous sights and attractions all over the city, entrance fees and ticket costs can soon stack up. Consider buying a sightseeing pass where you entrance to a number of attractions is covered. Check out the London Pass, which gives you access to over 60 of the main attractions, like the Tower of London, Thames River Cruise and London Zoo, allows you to fast-track entrance and you get a guidebook too! A one-day adult pass costs £49 and it’s £33 for a child. As with any of these types of tickets, make sure you know the in advance which attractions are your ‘must-see’s then compare the cost to the package tickets. You would normally have to visit just two or three attractions to make a saving. As long as you know you’ll do that – it’s worth it!

.Find a budget hotel. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to stay in London, and there are some great budget options available. There won’t be any frills, but there’s so much to do that all you need is somewhere clean and comfortable to rest those tired feet! The Plaza Hotel is a bargain, and only a few tube stops away from the big attractions.

.Catch the train in. Take it from us, you won’t want to drive around London in rush hour anyway and you can get some fantastic bargains online. Do your research and book your local train line well in advance for the best prices, and travel at off-peak times to make savings even more marked! Also consider booking a Railcard – but make sure you do your research to ensure you’re getting the best deal. Calculate the cost of your train journey then compare it to the cost of buying a Railcard as the discount you achieve with a Railcard makes it worth buying just for the one trip, especially those with kids.

.Find special offers! You can get some great last-minute special deals online, starting with websites like visitlondon.com, allinlondon.co.uk. Log on a few days before you go to see what’s available. Offers cover activities, theatre tickets, exhibitions, and restaurants. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the likes of Group on and Wowcher too.

.Exchange your Supermarket loyalty vouchers. You can visit the likes of Madame Tussauds and the Tower of London for nothing when you exchange Tesco Clubcard or Sainsbury Nectar points for vouchers! Just make sure you do this early enough to give time for the tickets to be issued and reach you in the post.
